BRIEF
Frangipani House was designed by Architects Ink for a couple who love to entertain and value thoughtful design. With a background in design, the client was involved in designing the Interiors, with some very specific ideas to create a home that was suitable for now and in the future.
The lighting brief was for the home was for the lighting to be minimal in both the space and the size of the fittings, to work hand in hand with the simplistic design of the home, but also to be functional and to provide adequate lighting for the clients artwork.
DESIGN
To achieve the design of the home, the ceiling height had to be minimised with a maximum ceiling space of 42mm in general areas, making product selection crucial and wiring very specific with nearly all fittings having remote drivers. This provided many challenges and opportunities to create a space that was well lit yet minimalistic.
To align with the design of the home the lighting design was to be minimalistic, with lighting to be as small as possible and blend into its surroundings. The lighting flows from one space to another with down lights kept to an absolute minimum due to the lack of ceiling space, and instead utilising 42v trim less recessed track lighting as well as surface cans throughout the home to create a modern space with lighting that softens and blends into its surroundings.
